The V88 is exceptionally voluminous for her length, in part down to the contemporary and practical plumb bowline, allowing space for a VIP suite to the front portion of the lower deck. CLM Studio draws on over 200 years of combined naval architecture experience to deliver a superior hull design at this size, while Versilcraft continues to work with Velmari to provide its GRP composite for the hull construction.
Drawing on many elements and materials associated with superyacht design, the V88 focuses on bringing natural light into the interior and uses premium finishes and design touches, such as removable panelling and hardwood cabinetry.
Three large windows in the owner’s full-beam suite ensure the access of light is maximised, and a walk-in wardrobe and bathroom with double sinks lend a luxurious sense of space to the whole area. The V88 sleeps eight guests across the owner’s suite, VIP suite and two twin rooms. There is additional accommodation for four crewmembers to the aft of the lower deck.
The colour scheme used throughout this first vessel is masculine yet soft, with grey marble, light wood finishes and a grey palate. The yacht’s entertainment systems are controlled by mini iPad system and an onboard film server feeds to televisions across the whole vessel.
The exterior, with spacious flybridge, offers guests a range of options for lounging and dining that would usually be expected from a much larger yacht, including a generous seating and sunpad area on the foredeck, plus a swim platform to the rear.
The technical systems of the RINA Maltese Cross-classed V88 also draw on superyacht technology and practices, bringing advantages to the buyer that would not usually be available in this size range.
The engineering platform includes three Volvo Penta IPS 1200hp engines, which deliver fantastic maneuverability and an excellent horsepower-speed-efficiency balance. The V88 is expected to have a maximum speed of 27 knots, with a more efficient yet very respectable cruising speed of 24 knots. There are zero-speed stabilisers for comfort at anchor and a tender crane is located to the aft of the vessel within the tender garage. Versilcraft has also considered the ease of maintenance of the V88, including priviledged access to parts for easy replacement across the globe.
Versilcraft has created a mould for the V88 model, and a second hull in the series is already under construction. There are two versions of the V88 model available, this first in the series has an LOA of 26.3m and, for those who would prefer owner-operator options, there is a second 24m version available.
